RESOLVED: that Council endorses the following:
a) That Cabinet approves the interim outline proposal as set out in 4.8 and 5.5 (and to explore other potential options) and gives authority to proceed on developing a final proposal for the 28 November 2025 deadline.
b) To delegate to the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, the preparation and submission of interim proposals to Government by the 21 March deadline, working in collaboration with the other local authorities in Staffordshire as appropriate.
c) To delegate to the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, the authority to commission expert advice and support as required to optimise the Council’s position, including commissioning or cost sharing with other authorities as required; costs to be met from existing resources initially.
d) That a further report is received by Cabinet and Council following receipt of the Government’s response to the interim plan submitted in March.
